But if you want to immerse yourself in all that Dubrovnik offers, you need 4 or more days to do so. In this article, we will discuss how to spend 5 days in Dubrovnik .

We’re going to present you one activity in Dubrovnik for each day of your stay here that will make your stay in this magical town even more diverse and memorable. Day 1: Exploring Dubrovnik’s Old Town
Your first day in Dubrovnik will be all about immersing yourself in Dubrovnik’s history and historical places . It’s a great introduction to Dubrovnik and as the time passes, you’ll discover more and more. For the first day, we’ll focus on the most famous historical locations in Dubrovnik. One thing we need to address is the Dubrovnik Pass – a card that allows you many benefits and could save you some money. We suggest buying it if you’re staying for 5 days in Dubrovnik.
Morning: Walk the Dubrovnik City Walls
Start your day with a walk on the Dubrovnik City Walls and enjoy some of the best views of Dubrovnik’s rooftops, Adriatic Sea and nearby islands.
Visit Fort Lovrijenac , located just outside the walls and a place that offers a unique perspective on the city.
Afternoon: Discover Old Town’s Landmarks
After you’re done with the Dubrovnik Walls, we suggest exploring the narrow alleys of the Old Town and diving even deeper into the history of this city.
Explore the Stradun , the main street in Dubrovnik.
Visit Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace, and St. Blaise Church .
Enjoy the lunch at a traditional Dalmatian konoba (tavern) .
Evening: Sunset Cable Car to Srđ Hill
Take the Dubrovnik Cable Car to Srđ and experience a panoramic sunset view over the city and nearby islands.

Day 2: Lokrum Island & Kayaking Adventure
Good morning! The first day was full of history and great views and you have explored most of the historical places within Dubrovnik. On the second day, it’s time to experience something else and enjoy the Dubrovnik Walls from a different perspective. Our second day in Dubrovnik will be a mix of relaxation and activity.
Morning: Visit Lokrum Island
Morning is reserved for a visit to one of the islands near Dubrovnik. After the warm coffee within the Old Town, head to its port and board the boat to the Lokrum Island .
Enjoy a short boat ride to Lokrum Island , a place known for exotic plants, peacocks, and medieval ruins.
Visit the Benedictine Monastery and take a swim in the Dead Sea Lagoon .
Afternoon: Kayaking Around Dubrovnik
We were kayak guides in Croatia for almost a decade and believe us when we say that kayaking is one of the best activities to enjoy in this country. Kayaking has many health benefits and it’s perfect for exploring the Croatian coastline.
Join a sea kayaking tour that will take you around the city walls and Lokrum Island .
Stop at Betina Cave Beach , a secluded beach and a place accessible only by kayak.
Evening: Relax by the Riva
Once again, walk the Dubrovnik’s Old Town , have a drink at one of the waterfront bars, and enjoy the end of the day.
Day 3: Island-Hopping to the Elaphiti Islands
Did you have enough of the Dubrovnik Islands? Our third day of 5 days in Dubrovnik starts with another island archipelago near Dubrovnik – Elaphiti Islands. This is going to be a day spent in relaxation and in visiting some of the best beaches near Dubrovnik.

Book a day trip to Elaphiti Islands and explore Lopud, Koločep, and Šipan .
Swim in crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, relax on famous Šunj Beach on Lopud , and explore local villages on the Elaphiti Islands.

Evening: Free Time in Dubrovnik
After returning from the Elaphiti, take a relaxing evening walk around Dubrovnik and see how the Old Town looks at night. Try to visit some alleys you haven’t visited before.

Day 4: Day Trip to Montenegro or Wine Tasting in Konavle
So far we had 3 days of Dubrovnik and it’s time to get some rest and book a day trip that will take us to some of the most famous places near Dubrovnik. We have 2 options for this day trip and you can choose to either visit Montenegro or Konavle. There are many other day trips from Dubrovnik available such as one to Mljet National Park, Mostar, Korčula, Pelješac Island, and so on. Some of these would be great options for a day trip as well.
Option 1: Montenegro Day Trip
Cross the border and explore Kotor, Perast, and the Bay of Kotor .
Visit Our Lady of the Rocks , a small island church with a fascinating history.
Option 2: Wine Tasting in Konavle
If you prefer to stay in Croatia, we suggest taking a day trip to Konavle Valley . It’s a nearby region known for its vineyards and traditional rural life .
Visit some of the family-run wineries located there and try local wines and other homemade delicacies .
Enjoy a peaceful lunch in a traditional Konavle estate .
Day 5: Adventure or Relaxation Before Departure
We are at the end of our 5 days in Dubrovnik. You have seen and experienced a lot of places and it’s time to spend a final day of this vacation in Dubrovnik. We have 3 different options for this occasion, and it’s up to you to choose whether you want to try another activity in Dubrovnik or spend a day in relaxation.
Morning: Choose Your Final Dubrovnik Experience
After the morning coffee, we suggest doing one of the following activities.
