It’s no secret that we love Croatian islands, and out of all the islands in Croatia, we spend most of our time on Hvar island. We basically live just opposite it and need a short ferry ride from Drvenik to Sućuraj to reach it. Over the past few years, we have visited some places more than others, and Sveta Nedjelja Hvar is one of them. This article will be all about this secluded place perfect for unwinding and adventure.

It’s located on the southern coast of Hvar and as such represents an ideal destination for travelers looking for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and authentic Dalmatian way of living .
Where is Sveta Nedjelja?
Sveta Nedjelja is located on the southern coast of Hvar Island , about 13 km from Hvar Town . The village is accessible by car via a road that passes near Stari Grad and Jelsa . There is another, unpaved road that has been built in the past decade, but don’t use it since it’s very dangerous, although locals say that it cuts the time needed to travel between Hvar and Sveta Nedjelja Hvar in half.
How to Get to Sveta Nedjelja
So far we’ve got to Sveta Nedjelja by any of the ways mentioned below. We even once visited it with our van and tried to reach Hvar by using that newly built road that is still unpaved. It was the worst decision ever but we stopped at the right time. Still, we got to Lučišća bay, one of our favorite beaches on Hvar Island.
Also, the boat ride from Hvar Town to Sveta Nedjelja is our favorite way of reaching this beautiful place since it gives you an opportunity to enjoy this part of the Hvar coastline which we believe is the best part of the whole island.
By Car: The most common way to reach Sveta Nedjelja is by car. From Hvar Town, take the road toward Stari Grad, then follow signs for Sveta Nedjelja. You’ll pass through the tunnel near the picturesque village of Pitve and find yourself in paradise.
By Boat: Private boats and water taxis from Hvar Town can take you straight to the Sveta Nedjelja Hvar.
By Ferry: If you’re coming from the mainland, ferries operate from Split to Stari Grad , after which you can drive or take a taxi to Sveta Nedjelja. There is another ferry that connects Drvenik on Makarska Riviera and Sućuraj on Hvar Island.
Why Visit Sveta Nedjelja?
As we already mentioned, Sveta Nedjelja on Hvar Island is a great place for many things, and through the years we have tried most of them. The first time we ever visited this place was because of the hike to the Sv. Nikola is the highest peak of Hvar island which is located just above Sveta Nedljelja Hvar.
